Daniil Medvedev has predicted that he would need to play “eleven out of ten” to get past the reigning champion Carlos Alcaraz at the US Open.
Medvedev declared:
“I played 12 out of 10”
Alcaraz got eliminated while the scores stood at 7-6 (3), 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 and then a rematch would be set up in the finals against Novak Djokovic, who was a winner against the opponent Ben Shelton earlier in Friday’s match.
Medvedev won the major championship at Flushing Meadows back in the year 2021 by defeating the twenty three times winner Djokovic in the title match of the same year. This actually prevented him from completing his Grand Slam Men’s Tennis Match ever since 1969.
Alcaraz was then asked for how long was he going to think over this form of setback to which he responded with:
Days? Weeks? I don’t know, I don’t think I’m going to think about this loss for a long time.
